Dr. Nurit Jugend
Dr. Nurit Jugend is a composer, music lecturer, and private tutor currently residing in Menlo Park, California. She gives music appreciation classes at seminars, conferences and special events across the USA and internationally, as well as teaches regularly at the Stanford Continuing Education Program at Stanford University.

Awards & Nominations
Dr. Jugend is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards, namely the Arturo Toscanini Foundation Competition, The Giles Whiting Fellowship from the Humanities and Sciences at Stanford University and Composers in Residency at Banff Centre (Canada), the Peninsula Community Foundation grant and the Subito grant from the American Composer's League (ACL).
Documentary Film
Dr. Jugend's is the producer and director of the documentary film They Played For Their Lives which tells the stories of eight Holocaust survivors who played music to save their lives. The film aims to increase awareness and encourage conversation about the complex topic of the Holocaust, to foster multigenerational understanding and compassion, as well as broaden perceptions of the power of music in our lives, to inspire hope and strengthen human connection.
Education
Dr. Jugend has a Music Doctorate from Stanford University, Masters in Art from the Hochschule der Künste Berlin (Germany), and a Bachelor in Music Composition from the Jerusalem Music Academy for Music and Dance.
