Philosophy

Music theory and ear-training contribute to better musicianship for both players and composers. Acquiring these skills help you

read and write music accurately and effortlessly. Both enable you to understand the works of great composers, whether it’s

Bach or the Beatles, and provide an insight as to why their music is so appealing.

Understanding music theory helps your musical development by providing tools with which you can express your creativity.

This includes the study of rhythms, notes, scales, harmony, form etc. Ear training develops the ability to listen to music and identify

the fundamental elements of a music composition.

I personalize the program and structure of my classes depending on the student’s interests and goals.

Piano

I teach piano combined with music theory as part of a student’s musical education and a necessity for good

musicianship and interpretation.

Composition & Songwriting

Learn how to compose music for a solo instrument, ensemble, orchestra or song.

Music Theory

Learn the scales, intervals, chords, harmony, tempo, meter, cadences, melody etc.

Ear-training (Solfège)

Learn to identify works in major or minor scales, recognize intervals, chords, chord progressions,

rhythms tempo and meter, and many more musical elements by ear.

Music Analysis

A deeper understanding of a composition in its many layers and musical elements, such as chord progression, melodic and

thematic development, musical texture and form, directly contribute to better musicianship, interpretation and performance.
